ESPN’s Mel Kiper released his 2.0 version of the 2023 NFL mock draft as the NFL Scouting Combine will be getting underway on Thursday in Indianapolis. It certainly came out of nowhere when LSU cornerback Sevyn Banks announced that he is declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft and not coming back to Baton Rouge for his final collegiate season. According to the Advocate’s Wilson Alexander, as a fifth-year senior, Banks did not have to formally submit his name for the draft by the January 16th underclassmen deadline. The New Orleans Saints were able to lock up defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon to a two-year contract. Kpassagnon was going to be a free agent, but the Saints were able to lock up a deal before the free-agency period starts on March 15th when the new year begins. The New Orleans Saints were able to keep their depth at the offensive guard position in check after resigning Calvin Throckmorton to a one-year deal. Throckmorton was slated to hit the free agency market that starts on March 15th when the official start of the league year begins, but the Saints were able to lock him up before that date.
