Mitchell Trubisky did enough throughout preseason to earn the starting QB job for the Steelers. He threw for 283 yards and 2 TDS, with no interceptions over the course of 3 preseason games (Seahawks, Jaguars, and Lions). The Steelers QB competition was pretty solid for the most part. Rookie Kenny Pickett showed talent in his first 3 NFL games. Pickett was 29 for 36 with 261 passing yards, 3 TDS, and 0 interceptions. Overall, it was a pretty impressive preseason for Pickett. Though, it was always going to be tough to jump right into the starting role as a rookie.…

The Steelers have made plenty of changes in the offseason, leading to many uncertainties for the 2022 regular season. Perhaps the biggest change will be at the QB position. Pittsburgh is moving on from future Hall-of-Famer Ben Roethlisberger, who spent 18 seasons as QB for the Steelers. So, who will be Pittsburgh’s next starting QB? The Steelers acquired free-agent QB Mitchell Trubisky in March, and signed him to a two-year deal worth $16 million. LB Alex Highsmith is a player that not many people were aware of heading into the 2020 NFL Draft. Highsmith’s journey to the NFL has a much different look than most collegiate athletes. LB Alex Highsmith’s Early Struggles at Charlotte: Alex Highsmith walked on to the Charlotte 49ers mid-major program in 2015. In his first three years (2016, 2017, 2018), Highsmith was nothing spectacular at the linebacker position. In 32 games, he had registered just 6 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss. Despite the frustrations, Highsmith stuck it out and stayed disciplined leading into his senior year. It would’ve been…

It’s safe to say there was a lack of appreciation for what he was able to do in just three years with the Dolphins team. Steelers give praise to Flores: In his short time with the Steelers, defenders have gone out of their way to give Flores praise. Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith says, “He’s…
