The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Georgia WR George Pickens with the second round pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Pickens was injured in 2021 with the Georgia Bulldogs. Prior to tearing his ACL in 2021, Pickens showed great ability during his time at Georgia. Pickens caught 90 passes for 1347 yards, and 14 touchdowns in just 26 games with the Bulldogs. Although it was a battle for him to get back into the game after tearing his ACL, he was eventually awarded for his efforts. Pickens got himself a ring in 2022 when Georgia defeated Alabama by a score of 33-18 in the CFP National Championship.
Plays like the one below show why Pickens can be a real threat in the NFL…

It will be fun to watch Pickens evolve into a NFL WR throughout his rookie year. Much of his success depends on the abilities of who’s at QB for Pittsburgh. Currently, it’s unknown as to whether or not Kenny Pickett or Mitchell Trubisky will be under center for the Steelers. Nonetheless, let’s hope Pickens is getting the ball early and often in the regular season.
