Former Steelers RB Le’veon Bell recently made a post on Instagram in which he announced his departure from the NFL in order to pursue a fighting career.

After reading Bell’s post. It’s clear that he has some regrets from some of the poor decisions he made in the NFL. Bell alludes to wishing he had a “time machine to go back to 2018.” During 2018, Bell decided to opt-out of his contract with the Steelers in hopes of getting a larger paycheck elsewhere. Pittsburgh wanted Bell to play the 2018 season under the franchise tag, while Bell wanted a long-term extension.

It was at this point that Bell’s career started to take a downfall. Bell signed a large five-year deal with the New York Jets, where he ended up playing only a little over a season. In addition, Bell a very brief stint with the Chiefs and the Buccaneers before he was released by Tampa in January of 2022.

Currently, Le’veon Bell is focused on his boxing career which is hard to believe. Bell was a one-of-a-kind running back when he was with the Steelers. Bell’s next big fight will be against another former NFL RB Adrian Peterson on July 30th. We can only guess where Bell would be now if he would’ve stayed on the Steelers throughout his career. He surely wasn’t the same RB with any other team he played for.
