Danny Carpenter has been writing for Gridiron Heroics since August 2022. I have played fantasy football since 1993 when you had to call your commissioner to submit a lineup, the Monday edition of the USAToday was the holy grail for NFL boxscores and NFL Countdown was the place for early stats. I will be writing articles on the Steelers and fantasy football. Any fantasy football questions, just ask!

That is how you bounce back in NFL DFS! After my cash lineup struggled in Week 2, it crushed in Week 3 with top 2 percent finishes in all my cash tournaments and helped bring home a third-place finish in a $3 Hundo. I finished with 150.66 points led by one of my cash player picks in QB Jalen Hurts, who 30.6 points. But it was Mack Hollins’ huge game of 32.96 points that really put me over the top. Now if Cooper Kupp (16.4 points) would have come close to his season average of more than 30 points, this…

The NFL’s Week 3 gave us a plethora of options for my Waiver Wire Frenzy. The injury bug hit several teams, giving opportunities to some key backups for the upcoming weeks and possibly beyond. Injuries to New England quarterback Mac Jones and Chicago running back David Montgomery have opened the door. Now let’s get those pick-up options! (Waiver wire options are based on Yahoo! Sports and ESPN player with less than 50 percent of ownership.) Quarterback Brian Hoyer, New England (0 percent Yahoo! & 0 percent ESPN) Hoyer should fill in nicely as Jones recovers from a high ankle sprain.…

Dreadful is all I can say about my NFL DFS plays for Week 2. I started the season with a great week with my cash core, but last weekend was just plain awful. On a weekend where the money line in cash games hovered in the low 120s, my line was doomed with only 85.9 points. Saquon Barkley gave me my first snowflake emoji with only 11.8 points.  Then the afternoon games made it worse. I had three more snowflakes with no fire emojis. Trey Lance left with a dislocated ankle late in the first quarter and scored only 2.5…

Week 2 of the NFL season has provided the Waiver Wire Frenzy more valuable assets. Injuries and opportunities not seen the preseason gives this week’s list a strong group. The owner percentage numbers will only include Yahoo! Sports and ESPN this week as it appears team managers are little more savvy on Sleeper. Sleeper also plays host to a lot of superflex leagues/dynasty leagues, allowing managers to gobble up a number of players. This week I’m introducing a new item on the Frenzy – the Stash Can. If you have room on your rosters, these players need to be picked…

Let the fades begin with my NFL Forecast! Just like last season, you could have made a nice bankroll off of my Best Bets, and my unlucky run continued the first week of the 2022 season. Pittsburgh was my only saving grace as they somehow pulled out a win in Cincinnati. But my Survivor picks were a little sour too, going 1-2 with the Dolphins saving my week (and in my home Survivor contest as well). As for my overall week, I finished with an 8-6-1 record as the first week of the NFL lived up to the saying, “On…

It was a great start of the NFL DFS season, and I believe Week 2 is shaping up for another good weekend. But first let’s get a recap of my cash core from last week. My lineup finished with a solid 162.6 points, easily landing in the green in all my cash tournaments. Patrick Mahomes was the right play at QB last week as he finished with a QB league-high 37.9 points. Michael Pittman Jr. joined Mahomes with a fire emoji with a big week, scoring 30.1 DraftKings points at his $5,500 salary. Christian McCaffrey was a dud for his…

It’s time for your overreactions to be reflected in your waiver wire bids. I will help with my weekly Waiver Wire Frenzy story to point you in the right direction of spending those important FAAB dollars. The lists will contain who I believe are the best options at every position and their ownership numbers from Yahoo! Sports, ESPN and Sleeper. Onto the frenzy! Quarterback Matt Ryan, Indianapolis (43 percent Yahoo!, 24 percent ESPN & 42 percent Sleeper) Ryan continues to prove he can still produce. Carson Wentz, Washington (14 percent Yahoo!, 17 percent ESPN & 19 percent Sleeper) A four-touchdown,…

Well, it’s that time again to humiliate myself with my weekly NFL forecast. I absolutely struggled last year with my best bets and I’m looking to rebound this season. However, Thursday’s game got me off on the wrong foot. I took the points with the LA Rams and watched them melt away in the second half vs. Buffalo. Onto the rest of the games! (Odds are based on DraftKings lines) Baltimore at NY Jets (Ravens -6.5, 44 over/under): Lamar Jackson returns after last season ended in injury. Ravens, 27-13 Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (Bengals -6.5, 44): Has the Bengals finally solved…

The NFL DFS Week 1 weekend slate is finally here, and players can rejoice! I will provide my cash core plays, along with value and cheap plays, just like last season. And I will continue to have a recap of the week before with a breakdown of my lineup. You have to be accountable with your wins and losses in my opinion. Hopefully, we have more wins during the season, and maybe a big win or two. The plays are based on DraftKings’ pricing and its full PPR scoring. I will be providing my main cash and GPP lineups (after…
