    NFL Forecast for Week 2

Let the fades begin with my NFL Forecast!

Just like last season, you could have made a nice bankroll off of my Best Bets, and my unlucky run continued the first week of the 2022 season.

Pittsburgh was my only saving grace as they somehow pulled out a win in Cincinnati.

But my Survivor picks were a little sour too, going 1-2 with the Dolphins saving my week (and in my home Survivor contest as well).

As for my overall week, I finished with an 8-6-1 record as the first week of the NFL lived up to the saying, “On any given Sunday!”

    Onto the games!

(Odds are based on DraftKings lines)

tua tagovailoa 1Miami at Baltimore (Ravens -3.5, 44.5 over/under): The only time the Dolphins have won in Baltimore vs. the Ravens was 2002. Ravens, 28-26

New England at Pittsburgh (Patriots -2.5, 40.5): This will be the first game without Tom Brady or Ben Roethlisberger as one of the teams’ QBs since the 2001 AFC Championship game. Steelers, 20-17

Carolina at NY Giants (Giants -2, 43.5): This game when played in New Jersey has been a back and forth affair with the Giants winning the last one. Giants, 24-21

NY Jets at Cleveland (Browns -6.5, 39): In the last five years, these games tend to be ugly and low scoring. Browns, 21-14

Tampa Bay at New Orleans (Buccaneers -2.5, 44): The Saints seem to have Tom Brady’s number since he has joined Tampa Bay. Saints, 34-31

Indianapolis at Jacksonville (Colts -3, 45): The last time the Colts won in Jacksonville was in 2014. Colts, 23-21

Washington at Detroit (Lions -1.5, 48.5): The Lions have a four-game winning streak when playing the Commanders in the Motor City. Lions, 37-34

Atlanta at LA Rams (Rams -10, 46.5): The Falcons are 5-2 vs. the Rams in the last five years. Rams, 34-17

Seattle at San Francisco (49ers -9, 40.5): Trey Lance and the 49ers prefer to play their games in the dry confines of Levi’s Stadium. 49ers, 27-13

Cincinnati at Dallas (Bengals -7, 42): The last time the Bengals won a game in Dallas I was still in high school (1988 and yes I’m old). Bengals, 27-24

Houston at Denver (Broncos -10, 45): The Texans catch a bad break with the Broncos coming off a surprising loss. Broncos, 34-26

Arizona at Las Vegas (Raiders -5, 51.5): Davante Adams missed the Packers’ game last year vs. Arizona because of covid. He makes up for lost time. Raiders, 35-24

Chicago at Green Bay (Packers -9.5, 41.5): What is it about first game flops by Aaron Rodgers led offenses? Packers, 27-17

Tennessee at Buffalo (Bills -9.5, 47.5): I really don’t think the Titans can surprise the Bills a second year in a row. Bills, 37-21

Minnesota at Philadelphia (Eagles -2.5, 50.5): They saved the best matchup in the league this week for last. Vikings, 33-30

    Overall

    Last week: 8-6-1 (.5.67)

    Thursday record: 0-2 (.000)

    Overall: 8-8-1 (.500)

    Survivor

Picks: Cleveland, LA Rams and San Francisco.

    Last week: 1-2 (.333)

    Overall: 1-2 (.333)

    Best Bets

    Picks: Saints +2.5, Washington-Detroit over 48.5, San Francisco -9, Buffalo -9.5 and Minnesota-Philadelphia over 50.5.

    Last Week: 1-4 (.200)

    Thursday’s Best Bets: 1-1 (.500)

    Overall: 2-6 (.250)

Danny Carpenter has been writing for Gridiron Heroics since August 2022. I have played fantasy football since 1993 when you had to call your commissioner to submit a lineup, the Monday edition of the USAToday was the holy grail for NFL boxscores and NFL Countdown was the place for early stats. I will be writing articles on the Steelers and fantasy football. Any fantasy football questions, just ask!
