This Sunday, the New England Patriots will look to pick up a road victory at Lambeau field against the Packers. Coming off of a loss to the Ravens last week, the Patriots seem to be getting hit with the injury bug earlier than they would hope this season. Injury Report The Patriots had two players yesterday who did not participate in practice. Mac Jones who is expected to be out for the foreseeable future as well as defensive lineman Lawrence Guy with a shoulder injury sustained last week.  Limited participants included S Joshua Bledsoe, OL Yodny Cajuste, DL Davin Gaudchaux,…

Earlier this morning the NFL announced the AFC and NFC Players of the Month for September. Alongside that they have also named their Offensive and Defensive Rookies of the Month.  AFC Lamar Jackson, Melvin Ingram, and Tommy Townsend are the three players of the month for offense, defense, and special teams respectively. Jackson has been dominant to this point showing why he is by far the most dynamic player in the NFL. Melvin Ingram led the Dolphins defensive unit with two sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Tommy Townsend dominated the punting game through three weeks averaging 55.6…

Boston College (1-4) will play host to the Louisville Cardinals (2-2) this weekend. With BC coming off a lopsided loss to Florida State and Louisville beating Southern Florida 41-3 the morale for both teams would seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum. One would think that, but even though losing handily to Florida State, BC actually was not outplayed by much.  BC Needs More EXPLOSIVE Plays Similar to how BC beat up on Maine by having huge gains, Florida State did that to them in spades. From the start, the Eagles were behind the eight ball giving up…

With Hurricane Ian hitting Tampa Bay earlier this morning there are many questions in the air. Apart from the hoping that everyone is safe and indoors, there are no answers to where the Buccaneers will be playing. Tampa Bay was scheduled to be hosting Kansas City Sunday Night and the NFL has announced that it is monitoring the situation. This is a scenario that we haven’t seen since Hurricane Katrina. In 2005 the Saints split time between Tiger Stadium at LSU and the AlamoDome in San Antonio.  What Has Already Happened Tampa Bay has temporarily moved to Miami to practice…

Three weeks into the NFL season and we can start to see a few different players separating themselves from the pack. SInce 2007, the NFL MVP award has gone to a quarterback every year besides 2012 when Adrian Peterson dominated the NFL. So it is safe to assume that the quarterbacks will be in the front running again this season for the MVP.  Here are the MVP front runners after week 3. Tier One There are two players that come to mind after week three who really have separated themselves more than anybody else. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have…

With the NFL heading into week three of the season, by far the most anticipated matchup is Green Bay visiting Tampa Bay. Not only are these two of the favorites to win the NFC but it’s the fifth matchup between two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. Who isn’t highly anticipating Brady vs. Rodgers for the fifth time in their careers? Brady has a 3-1 advantage against Rodgers and Green Bay in his career but this week could play out to be a challenging one for the Buccaneers. Wide Receiver Struggles Tampa Bay will be without Mike Evans as…

Yesterday afternoon the Pro Football Hall of Fame put out their list for the 129 finalists for the Class of 2023. Being named to that list alone means that you have done something in your career, whether it be long or short, to impact the game of football in a positive manner. Out of the 129 finalists there are 67 offensive players, 50 defensive players, and 12 special teams only players. There are few players whose criteria makes them eligible for both such as former Patriots receiver and special teamer Troy Brown and Browns receiver and special teamer Josh Cribbs.…

Notre Dame football picked up their first win over the weekend 24-17 over Cal and avoided starting the year 0-3 which they haven’t done since 2007. Despite winning, Notre Dame still has many question marks as a team, and nothing proved that more than Tommy Rees screaming on the phone at Freshman Quarterback Drew Pyne. Tommy Rees Yelling at Drew Pyne If you have seen the clip you can pretty easily read what Rees is yelling. Rees, one of the best quarterbacks in school history, showed shades of his former coach Brian Kelly with a display that would rival some…

Boston College got their first win of the season Saturday over fellow New Englander, University of Maine. Maine was able to keep it close for a quarter but the Eagles just overpowered the Black Bears in the final three quarters of the game. Big Plays Lead to Points “Explosive plays do that for you. That’s how you score and it gives us a ton of momentum.” Hadley’s post game press conference was monotone as usual but you could see his sense of relief to get that first victory of the season. BC had two plays over fifty yards with one…

Sunday’s Win for the Patriots was a perfectly coached Bill Belichick. Minus the missed 52 yard field goal from Nick Folk, the Patriots played nearly perfect football for the game. With a few lapses in concentration in then second half Patriots fans have to be pleased with the outcome. With that being said, the Patriots have to do a better job of incorporating more of their skill positions into the game plan.  Kendrick Bourne After a season where Bourne had career highs in receiving yards and receptions it is clear to say that the start of the 2022 campaign…
