The Washington Commanders, with the 36th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, selected defensive tackle Johnny Newton from Illinois. Washington had a need for defensive line help and the fact that Newton was available 36th overall was something the Commanders could not pass up on. The Commanders traded away Chase Young to the San Francisco 49ers and Montez Sweat to the Chicago Bears near the NFL Trade Deadline last season. New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll is looking forward to his third season as the head coach of this franchise. The New York Giants selected LSU Tigers wide receiver Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. This was the smart selection for the franchise on Thursday night. A decade ago in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Giants selected wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from LSU and it turned out well for them.
