The Arkansas Razorbacks’ spring practices are in full effect as the Razorbacks prepare their new offense for the 2024 season under new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino. The pairing of current head coach Sam Pittman with former Razorbacks head coach Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator will be exciting to see in the upcoming 2024 season. One player that has been showing since last year and continues to do so at spring practice is Arkansas wide receiver Andrew Armstrong.
Arkansas Razorbacks Receiver Andrew Armstrong Emerging As Leader And WR1
Armstrong returned to Fayetteville for his redshirt senior campaign despite all the NFL draft whispers. Armstrong could be on the verge of a breakout great season in 2024 with Petrino leading the way as offensive coordinator. Armstrong led the Razorbacks in receiving last season after racking up over 700 yards, and five touchdowns, on 56 receptions with Dan Enos as offensive coordinator.
The Razorbacks returned a large number of their receivers from a year ago names like Isaiah Sategna, Tyrone Broden, Jaedon Wilson, among others. With all of these players returning for another season Armstrong’s development as a leader in the locker room is going to be crucial in the upcoming 2024 campaign to rally these guys and prepare them, especially with a new quarterback at the helm.
The Razorbacks Wide Receivers Adapting To New Quarterback Situation With KJ Jefferson Transferring Out
Forming a connection with your quarterback is super important, especially after losing your starter from last season KJ Jefferson. New Razorbacks transfer signal-caller Taylen Green has made a very strong impression on the rest of the team during spring practices and spoke highly of Armstrong after Arkansas’s first open scrimmage of spring. Saying things like “He can beat you deep, his comebacks, his slants, you never know what route he’s going to do and he’s going to create separation.”
Even star sophomore cornerback Jaylon Braxton is usually the defender tasked with guarding Armstrong in practice, and with plenty of one-on-one experience against him, Braxton believes that Armstrong is one of the Hogs’ best. Even quoted saying “He’s the number one guy, and I’m the number one corner, so we just go at each other every day and battle each other every day.” These two continue to make each other better each and every day and will be exciting to see their development through spring and see them primed and ready to go for the 2024 season.
The Future Of The Arkansas Razorbacks Offense Looks Bright Under Bobby Petrino
As Spring Practice continues, the Razorbacks’ offense continues to make strides and look more explosive than ever compared to last year, as they were offensively impaired ranking 105th in passing offense in the country. All that is hopefully about to change this upcoming season as Bobby Petrino comes back to Arkansas as offensive coordinator bringing Ronnie Fouch and Kolby Smith hired to replace Kenny Guiton and Jimmy Smith as wide receivers coach and running backs coach, respectively, Fouch and Smith both made their way to Fayetteville thanks to coaching prowess and their former experience working with Petrino.
Coach Pittman and his new staff are ready to go for the upcoming 2024 season getting this offense looking more explosive than ever. The Hogs continue to practice hard throughout the spring getting used to the new and improved Arkansas offense, an offense that will hopefully be a force to be reckoned with and have all Arkansas Razorbacks fans in hog heaven with this coaching duo in Fayetteville.
