The Arizona Cardinals need Kyler Murray in 2023
The Arizona Cardinals provided an update on their quarterback star Kyler Murray Thursday. Murray suffered a torn left ACL and meniscus injury in Week 14 that shortened his season in 2022. The Cardinals thought Murray would miss the early part of the 2023 season as he rehabs the injury.
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Michael Bidwell, president of the Cardinals, said Thursday they thought Murray will return earlier than the NFL’s midseason. Bidwell didn’t say what game Murray would return for but suggested it would be toward the earlier part of the season.
Bidwill on Kyler Murray’s return from ACL reconstruction: “I think (his return) is going to be earlier than this midseason, so hopefully, it's toward the beginning of the season, but I don't want to put any specific dates.” https://t.co/5SjovkH0qv

Murray’s health will be important for the Cardinals’ future. The Cardinals’ struggles last season led to head coach Kliff Kingsbury being fired a year after receiving a contract extension after making the playoffs. Jonathan Gannon was named as Kingsbury’s successor. Gannon has been clear since he took over in Arizona that Murray will be a focal point for the team going forward.
