There is a rumor that a 49ers trade could be coming during this free agency. Though nothing has happened, there is a rumor that the San Francisco 49ers have informed teams that Javon Kinlaw is on the trade block. There have not even been teams mentioned that could be interested in Kinlaw. This may not be something that happens for a while, but worth discussing.

49ers Trade Talks
Javon Kinlaw has been in the league since being drafted by the 49ers in the 2020 NFL draft. Kinlaw was a first-round draft pick that unfortunately never really worked out for San Francisco. The biggest issue with Kinlaw has been his game availability. In his three years in the league, Kinlaw has played just 24 games. He has also played in just three playoff games. With the news of a deal being agreed upon with Javon Hargrave, it appears Kinlaw’s time in San Francisco is nearing its end.
In the three years, Kinlaw has had a total of 45 combined tackles, 18 of which were solo, and three tackles for loss in the regular season, according to Pro Football Reference. He only has 1.5 sacks but does have an interception which resulted in a touchdown by him.

Kinlaw has been set back by many injuries in the three years, and it would make sense for the 49ers to attempt to trade the defensive lineman. The team may not get much in return, but if they get more late draft picks, the 49ers could trade up.
There is a chance that the 49ers will wait for Wednesday to further discussions regarding Kinlaw to be sure that the signing of Hargrave goes through. The deal between Hargrave and the 49ers will not go through until the league year officially begins Wednesday afternoon.
