San Francisco 49ers Set to Sign Defensive Tackle
According to Adam Schefter, a deal is set for the 49ers to sign Hargrave to a four-year deal. Hargrave is a free agent from the Philadelphia Eagles, who beat the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Though they cannot officially sign the deal, the team has reached an agreement.

According to Schefter, it is a four-year $84 million deal with $40 million guaranteed. This is a big addition to the 49ers already strong defensive line. The defensive tackle position was one that the 49ers needed more depth on. With two rookie quarterbacks, the team was free to go all in on an important player.
This may come as a surprise, as the San Francisco 49ers were not expected to make a big splash in free agency. The team was able to add another member to a defensive line that already has Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead. They also took away a big player from another NFC team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
