The Philadelphia Eagles have been absolutely atrocious as they were 10-1 and riding high and ended the regular season 1-5 to be an NFC Wild Card team before losing in the NFC Wild Card Round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With everybody expecting Eagles coach Nick Sirianni to be fired after the game, let’s take a look at some potential replacements that Howie Roseman could look at.
Philadelphia Eagles Next Coach: Bill Belichick
Going from Nick Sirianni to Bill Belichick would be like going from a beaten up pick-up truck to a Rolls Royce. Belichick would be the home run option with his no-BS attitude that will straighten up the franchise on the field. He also would have the opportunity to get an actual offensive coordinator like Josh McDaniels and recreate the magic they had in New England.
Belichick is a defensive mastermind and just having him on the sidelines would boost the brutal Eagles secondary so if this is an option, expect the Philadelphia Eagles to get on the phone with him as soon as the final whistle sounds.
Philadelphia Eagles Next Coach: Ben Johnson
The beautiful thing about this time of the year is the fact that the hottest coordinators are going to be one of the top candidates in the coaching hiring phase. Ben Johnson has done an incredible job of elevating the Detroit Lions offense this season and making them the third seed in the NFC.
With the incredible talent of Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and DeAndre Swift to name a few, Johnson would have a bevy of talent to get the offense back to what they looked like in the first half of the season.
Philadelphia Eagles Next Coach: Jim Harbaugh
Look, the Eagles need to make a splash and getting the national champion coach Jim Harbaugh would be a great hire for the team. Harbaugh would be one of the biggest names that the team can get and if they are able to lure him away from both the Los Angeles Chargers and the Michigan Wolverines, it would be interesting.
The Eagles have a lot of weapons but need a strong head coach and that is what Harbaugh would bring to the City of Brotherly Love.
