For the first time in 25 years, legendary coach Bill Belichick is on the unemployment line looking for a job after being let go by the New England Patriots. However, as one of the top coaches available, he is going to garner a lot of interest from teams looking for a new coach.
During the NFC Wild Card Game on Monday night between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it became known that Belichick has concluded an interview with the Atlanta Falcons.
We have interviewed Bill Belichick for our head coach opening

The Atlanta Falcons has been one of the most rumored teams for Bill Belichick to join in 2024. It is being reported by multiple outlets that there is mutual interest between the two sides but no deal is imminent. There has been no indication that he would also be the team’s general manager as the meeting concluded.
We also have no idea what other teams will be bringing in Bill Belichick for an interview for a head coaching position.
Would Bill Belichick’s best option be the Atlanta Falcons?
The Atlanta Falcons provide Belichick with a few different options as the NFC South is not a difficult division to win games as the Buccaneers won the division with a 9-8 record. Atlanta has a lot of young talent on the offensive side of the football specifically as they have tight end Kyle Pitts, wide receiver Drake London and running back Bijan Robinson.
In addition, Belichick has the opportunity to reunite with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as he is available to be on his staff. The Falcons currently hold the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL draft and could have a young quarterback, trade for Justin Fields or attract a free agent like Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston or Kirk Cousins.
This feels like a great position for both sides but with no deal signed, expect to see Belichick fly around and get some more interviews with teams like the Washington Commanders and Los Angeles Chargers to name a few.
