The Packers beat the Bears on Sunday night 27-10. Even with some pressure in the second half, the Packers handily won the game. While everyone will talk about Aaron Jones, Jaire Alexander and Preston Smith, one player is making an impact that isn’t always showing on the stat sheet. Kenny Clark is quietly having a great season. Watch as Kenny Clark manhandles a Bears lineman.

The Bears Lineman Didn’t Stand A Chance

The lineman had no chance. There was no resistance. Kenny Clark tosses him aside and has a clean look at Justin Fields. Clark does not get the sack but he does create a hurried throw. If you watch until the end of the play the hurried throw leads to an incompletion. The defensive line needs to improve the run defense but the pass defense is clearly a strength. If the Packers can get the opponent into 3rd and long, they will be lethal. As Kenny Clark manhandles a Bears lineman, it shows what the line can do when they can pin their ears back.

Through the first two games, Kenny Clark has been a force. If you look at the stats, nothing jumps off the page. However, his taking up of the middle of the line is allowing the edge rushers of Preston Smith and Rashan Gary to get pressure. The video above shows the risk if you put Clark in a 1-on-1 situation. The Bears tried to go 1-on-1 and Kenny Clark ended up manhandling the lineman. If he keeps playing like this, the tackles and sacks will come.

The defense had a nice bounce back game against the Bears. A tough test awaits in week 3 against the Buccaneers. The good news is that Tampa Bay’s offensive line is banged up and Tom Brady is not the most mobile quarterback. If the defense can stop the run, look for them to feast on Sunday.
