Some Washington Huskies players had words with a Texas Longhorn fan following their 37-31 victory in the College Football Playoff semifinal game.
Defensive backs Jaivion Green and Dyson McCutcheon were going back-and-forth with a Texas fan following the conclusion of the game. McCutcheon and Green were just feet away from the Longhorn fan, who was yelling back at the two Husky players.

Texas was unable to pull off the improbable victory, despite being given a chance after a failed onside kick. The Huskies secondary bent, but did not break at the end of the game. Texas got to the red zone, but was unable to convert.
The Washington Huskies did not get much help beating the Texas Longhorns from the players in question
Green and McCutcheon did not see the field much before their post-game altercation. Green had two tackles during the game, while McCutcheon has not recorded a stat since he had one tackle against the Cal Golden Bears in late September.
While the Huskies secondary did allow over 300 yards in the air from Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, they stood tall in the final moments of the game. Cornerback Elijah Jackson made an elite play on the ball in the final moments to prevent wide receiver Adonai Mitchell from making another big time catch in a College Football Playoff game.
The Huskies held Ewers to a 55.8% completion rate and just one touchdown. Ewers and the Longhorns managed to put up 31 points on the Huskies defense, but their passing game was far from efficient.
It was only the second time this year that Ewers had a sub-60% completion rate. His 43 attempts were second-most only to the Big 12 Championship game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys when he threw the ball 46 times.
In an article from the Associated Press, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian paid respect to Ewers for his performance in the game despite his inability to get the win.
“He had made some big-time throws at critical moments, especially late in the ballgame. Gave us a chance to win,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said. “That doesn’t happen unless he’s played his heart out and making some really big-time throws.”
Texas Longhorns fans and Washington Huskies fans both have a lot to say about the altercation
A lot of Texas fans and a lot of Washington fans are both in agreement that the fan in the altercation had no business yelling at college-aged football players after the loss. A lot of fans pointed out the presence of children, citing this as one of the most embarrassing aspects of the incident.
