Warrant Issued For Georgia DT Jalen Carter
This stems from an investigation of a January 15th crash that took the life of a teammate and staffer. The warrant states that Carter along with another person, Chandler LeCroy, was engaging in behavior that was consistent with racing. It goes on to say that before the Expedition crashed, it was estimated to be going over 100 miles per hour. While Carter’s car was not involved in the crash itself, the racing behavior may have been a cause of the crash. Details are still coming out.
What Does This Mean For Carter?
This is not a great look for Carter. As a top-pick candidate, teams usually like to stay away from players that have off-the-field issues. While I doubt he will fall out of the field entirely, it could drastically affect his draft stock. With so few details at this time, it is unclear exactly what type of punishment Carter is potentially looking at. He was scheduled to speak at the combine today but it is unclear whether he will still do so.
As of this moment, all we know is that a warrant has been issued for Jalen Carter. As more details come out, we will have a better understanding of what this means for him on and off the field.
