Urban Meyer knows a lot about greatness and has experienced it from himself and others around him. Meyer won three national titles as a college football head coach and even coached one of the best quarterbacks ever to do it, Tim Tebow.
Meyer also recognizes other people’s greatness, and this week, one of the best athletes to ever live, former MLB star Pete Rose, passed away at 83.
Urban Meyer Pays His Respect To Pete Rose

Meyer took to social media and tweeted a video of Pete Rose’s highlights, stating, “Simply the best to ever do it! RIP, Friend!”

Rose was a 17-time All-Star and was a member of Three World Series teams, playing 24 years and spending most of his career with the Cincinnati Reds.
Rose was also the best hitter in MLB history, setting the most hits record for a career, but he was banned from baseball for betting on the sport and was never allowed to enter the MLB Hall of Fame.
Even though Rose has apologized and paid his price for betting on the sport, the Hall of Fame has never let him in, which angered many fans. Many of them are now calling for him to be put in the hall now that he has passed.

Meyer’s tribute to Rose shows how important he was to so many people who grew up watching him. He impacted a generation of greatness.
It’s always awful to lose one of the greats in the sports world, and it also stinks knowing that Rose never got to see his day in the Hall of Fame, but his stories and legacy will live on through many generations.
