Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence is currently trending to miss Thursday Night Football this week against the New Orleans Saints. He is currently day-to-day with a left knee injury but the head coach Doug Pederson would not elaborate on the specifics of the injury. We do not yet know if he will be playing this Thursday either, which has caused NFL fans to speculate whether he will be starting.

Injury Report
Pederson told reporters that Lawrence’s knee is sore but has been feeling better as of Monday and that he will be splitting first-team reps in practice with backup quarterback C.J. Beathard depending on how his knee recovers. The quarterback had an MRI on Monday, but the specifics of it are unknown as to if there are any strained ligaments.
Pederson told reporters, “You’d have to talk to Ferg [vice president of player health and performance Jeff Ferguson].” A source in the NFL described the knee injury as a “sprain that is not a significant thing” to NFL analyst Adam Schefter.
Trevor Lawrence Injury
Lawrence got hurt on a third-and-seven play with 3:10 left in the game against the Jaguars 37-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He faked a pitch to running back Travis Etienne Jr. and rolled left which caused him to be chased down by a Colts defender. He immediately grabbed his injured knee and was down on the ground for longer than usual. The good news is that he was able to walk off the field under his own power.
The Jaguars have amounted to 2,024 total yards and 15 touchdowns in the first six weeks of the 2023 season. Lawrence has passed for 1,447 yards and has helped Jacksonville get to a 4-2 record and first place in the AFC South division. His absence this week against the Saints would be detrimental to the team and would most likely cause the team to fall to a 4-3 record.
