Travis Kelce’s Injury
The star tight end went down with an ankle injury in the Chiefs’ week five matchup against the Minnesota Vikings just before the half. Kelce was originally questionable to return to the game in the second half, causing him to get right on the sidelines for the first few minutes of the third quarter. He ended up coming back in and scoring a touchdown which gave a sigh of relief to Chiefs and Taylor Swift fans.
Travis Kelce has been limited in practice for most of the week following up to tonight’s matchup which has left him listed as “Questionable” until just a few hours before kickoff. He is expected to play with his ankle heavily taped to limit further damage which could affect his game.
Impact On The Chiefs
So far in the 2023 season, the star tight end has amounted to 222 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He has not had the best start to the year but has been dealing with injuries since the first week of the season which he missed. He will look to put up monster numbers tonight against one of the worst defenses in the league the Denver Broncos.
Over his long and storied career since 2013, Kelce has put up a mind-blowing 10,566 receiving yards and 72 touchdowns. He has been the Chiefs’ best player not named Patrick Mahomes and has taken the team to new heights in recent years. His participation tonight will certainly give Kansas City an even bigger advantage as they face their AFC West foe on primetime.
