The Super Bowl is known for being a star-studded event, but this year was a whole different story with all of the coverage surrounding Taylor Swift.
But even after all of the chatter about Swift — and the constant debate of her becoming a distraction for hardcore football fans, while bringing in a whole new audience of young females to watch America’s favorite sport — the CBS crew barely focused on her during the four hour and eight minute broadcast on Sunday.
A graph was released on Monday showing Swift was shown 12 times for a total of 54 seconds which equates to .36 percent of the Super Bowl broadcast.
Taylor Swift began dating Kelce after he said on his “New Heights” podcast that he had tried and failed to give her a friendship bracelet during her performance at Arrowhead Stadium. Kelce then invited her to watch him perform at the home of the Chiefs, and she surprisingly showed up for their Week 2 game against Chicago.
Swift soon became a regular at games, both home and away, frequently sitting with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Swift occasionally brought along friends, including Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
“Having Taylor as a new Chiefs fan is very unique,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said during Super Bowl week. “I don’t ever do an interview without someone asking me about it. I think a lot of players and coaches on the team are in the same boat. The most important thing is we’re happy for the two of them that they have found each other and have such a special relationship.”
There was plenty of star power besides Swift for the NFL’s marquee night. Usher’s halftime show included guest performers Alicia Keys, Ludacris and Lil Jon. Reba McEntire sang the national anthem. Beyoncé, who was also at the game, appeared in a commercial and dropped a pair of new songs in the second half.
Former NFL Star Brandon Marshall Claims Taylor Swift Had Kanye West Kicked Out Of Super Bowl
Former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall claims Swift had rapper Kanye West — who has had public disputes with the pop star over the years — removed from the Big Game.
Marshall made the claim on the Paper Route podcast, where he said Ye had bought a ticket directly in front of Swift’s booth, enraging the pop star.
“Kanye West pulls up to Vegas. Kanye West buys a ticket to right in front of Katy Perry’s booth, so any time they were going to be showing Katy Perry, Kanye’s face was going to be there,” the former Denver Bronco said.
Marshall then realized he had mistaken Perry for Taylor Swift, who was famously interrupted by West at the 2009 MTV VMAs and has had a complicated relationship with the rapper ever since.
“He’s got a mask on with his logo on the mask — typical Kanye,” he continued. “Taylor Swift gets pissed off, she boom boom makes a call or two. Everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out the stadium.”
“He was trying to leverage her celebrity … That’s what he tried to do; he tried to sit in front of Taylor Swift.”
Despite Marshall’s claims, Kanye West was seen several times inside Allegiant Stadium to watch the Super Bowl, at one point linking up with Ty Dolla $ign and Anderson. Paak in a luxury suite.
In a clip of Kanye hanging out with the Silk Sonic star, the TV in the background shows the game is already in the third quarter so if West was removed from the stadium, it was late in the game.
It’s hard to tell if there’s any truth behind this, but it would be wild if true.
