Former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow recently went on Fox News to talk about the horrors of child trafficking going on in the US and the world. The numbers Tebow presented are staggering.
Former Denver Broncos QB testified before Congress last week
Last week, Tebow joined a panel to testify in front of Congress about what he had learned about child trafficking. Tebow’s foundation, the Tim Tebow Foundation, works with law enforcement to identify victims to be rescued.
Tim Tebow said nearly 50,000 children are unidentified
Per a transcription of Tebow’s appearance on “Fox News Sunday” by FoxNews.com, Tebow said the number of child human trafficking victims had grown substantially in the previous few years. Tebow said that when he first learned of the problem, there were 20,000 unidentified children. However, after his foundation’s work with legal agencies, Tebow said he found that the number had more than doubled.
“We found that it’s not 20,000 kids that are unknown or unidentified, it’s over 50,000 boys and girls through the backlog that are unidentified in these global databases,” he added. “There are so many boys and girls and 65% of them are under the age of 12 and 4.3% of them – that’s 2,100 – are infants.”
Tebow’s foundation helped rescue people last year
Per the report, Tebow said his foundations partnered with Homeland Security in 2023 for a project named “Operation Renewed Hope.” The foundation helped to rescue “several” victims of human trafficking and located nearly 300 probable identities that law enforcement can use to rescue more victims.
Hopefully, Tebow’s foundation will have even greater success in 2024. The number of child victims reported by the foundation is truly horrific.
