Texas Longhorns: Arch Manning Receives Controversial Ranking Entering Week 4 Of the College Football Season

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning will be one of the most polarizing names in college football for the rest of the 2024 season and also all of 2025. Some people think that Manning should start over Quinn Ewers even when Ewers is back and healthy.

Manning had a 67-yard rushing touchdown against the UTSA Roadrunners last week and also completed 75.0% of his passes for 223 yards and four touchdowns. This may only be the beginning of an interesting college football career for Arch Manning.

CBS Sports Tom Fornelli Already Thinks Texas Longhorns Quarterback Arch Manning Is the Best Quarterback Entering Week 4

It is only the fourth week of college football season, but CBS Sports Tom Fornelli is dropping some massive hot takes with his quarterback rankings. Entering the fourth week of the college football season, he ranked his Top 10 quarterbacks in the sport.

Fornelli has ranked Arch Manning as the top quarterback in college football entering Week 4 of the 2024 college football season. He was not ranked on last week’s Top 10 rankings. Tom Fornelli said:

“It was a tough day for the Manning haters who claimed he was only a five-star prospect due to his name. Manning finished with 276 total yards and four touchdowns against UTSA in relief of Ewers. Given Texas’ upcoming schedule, the odds are that Manning will keep posting big numbers while he’s there.”

The Longhorns will face the UL-Monroe Warhawks this weekend. It would not be a surprise to see Arch Manning put up big numbers once again against them this weekend. Ewers is currently out week-to-week with an oblique/abdominal injury.

    Other Noticeable Quarterback Rankings

There are some other noticeable college football quarterback rankings for this week. Jalen Milroe of the Alabama Crimson Tide is ranked second on this list. To round out the Top 5: Cam Ward of the Miami Hurricanes is ranked third, Nico Iamaleava of the Tennessee Volunteers is ranked fourth, and Jaxson Dart of the Ole Miss Rebels is ranked fifth.

Projected number one overall pick Carson Beck of the Georgia Bulldogs is ranked eighth on this list. The fact that Manning is ranked ahead of all these quarterbacks is a major surprise for now. If he keeps this up, he will probably stay number one on the rankings and it will be hard for Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian to keep him on the bench.
