Tee Higgins is eager to get a new contract from Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is entering his fourth year in the NFL. The 2020 second-round-draft pick will play in a “contract season” in 2023. With Higgins a part of an already loaded offense, especially wide receiver, there are rumors the Bengals might want to trade Higgins before they have to pay quarterback Joe Burrow the big bucks.
Bengals general manager Due Tobin said there are no plans to trade Higgins earlier this offseason. Higgins recently gave an update on what he’s thinking about his next contract during his guest appearances on the Pat McAfee Show Thursday. Higgins said he wants a deal to get done but that his focus is on getting ready to play for the elite Bengals this season:
“Right now, I’m just preparing for the season. I’m not really worried about the contract,” Higgins said. “Obviously, I want to get a deal done, but I let my agent handle that, and you know, right now, just for me getting my body right for next season.”

Tobin’s comments on keeping Higgins could be a smokescreen. The Bengals could use their leverage on Higgins to get a high price in April’s NFL draft.
