The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed Mike Evans to a two-year deal worth $52 million, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo. Evans has spent 10 seasons with the franchise and has gone over 1,000 yards in every single year of his career.
A season ago with Tampa Bay, he caught 79 passes for 1,255 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns, averaging 15.9 yards per reception. Evans is 30 years old and he will be 31 years old when the season begins.
Mike Evans was the seventh overall selection in the 2014 NFL Draft and is possibly on his way to the Hall of Fame. With him going back to the Buccaneers, he had a great Instagram post about him going back to Tampa Bay.

His Instagram post reads:
“Fire Them Cannons.”
This is what happens at Tampa Bay home games when anyone scores a touchdown. He has been doing that for over a decade for the franchise and he will be doing more of it down the road. This was a great caption for his post in coming back to Tampa, Florida.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wide Receiver Mike Evans Has Played With Different Quarterbacks Throughout His NFL Career
What Evans has done throughout his career up to this point has been special. He hasn’t been with any superstar quarterbacks except for Tom Brady throughout his NFL career. Some of the other names that he has been with are Mike Glennon, Josh Freeman, Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick. and Baker Mayfield.
It is has been amazing that this top tier of a wide receiver has excelled with below-average to average quarterbacks throughout his NFL career. For at least the next two seasons, “Fire the Cannons” will happen often for Evans.
There would have been other suitors for him had he hit the open market next week. For now, he could make an argument that he can be the greatest Buccaneers player of all time if he can get over 1,000 yards receiving for the next two seasons.
