The Sooners continue to boom this month, adding corner Jasiah Wagoner. He chose Oklahoma over Texas, Oregon, and California. The four-star athlete the eighth commit in July for Brent Venables’ program.
Wagoner received an offer from the University of Oklahoma in the spring. Since then, he has attended a camp and taken two unofficial visits to the Sooner’s campus.
Co-defensive coordinator Jay Valai gets the nod for reeling in the cornerback prospect. Valai played college football at the University of Wisconsin. In the last six years, the former Badger has been a part of six different coaching jobs. In 2018, he got a taste of the NFL on Andy Reid’s staff for the Chiefs.

On ESPN’s Class of 2023 Top 300, Jasiah Wagoner sits at No. 196 and is the best prospect from the state of Washington. The 24th-best corner in the country has an 82 scout grade.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back attends Spanaway Lake High School in Spanaway, WA. He plays both sides of the ball but will focus on defense when he enters college. Wagoner also returned punts and kickoffs for Spanaway Lake. The corner is known for tracking the ball well and delivering hard-hitting tackles.
