NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the idea that the NFL is scripted in a press conference Monday when addressing pop star Taylor Swift’s newfound involvement with the NFL.
[Taylor Swift] knows great entertaining and that’s why she loves NFL football,” Goodell said. “I’m not that good a scripter.”
Goodell called the whole Swift thing a positive for the NFL. Swift has been a fixture in NFL games since the beginning of the season as she is the girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
People claim the Kansas City Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl because the NFL is scripted by Roger Goodell
The Kansas City Chiefs had a down year in the regular season when it came to production, and many thought this down year would result in a Super Bowl without the Chiefs, which has been a rarity in recent year.
The Chiefs had their lowest offensive ranking in the Patrick Mahomes–Andy Reid era this season after the departure of former offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. They were first in total offense in 2018, 2020 and 2022. They were third in 2021 and sixth in 2019, but this year they ranked ninth.
Controversial calls that went the Chiefs way in the playoffs furthered the notion that the NFL had a vested interest in the Chiefs’ success.
Can’t wait to see which obscure penalty the Chiefs get/don’t get called for to win this game🫨 pic.twitter.com/Bu2y7PlGrK https://t.co/wp9m4sLmhR

Here is sneed sticking his leg out as well with no call and would’ve canceled out the taunting penalty. For every missed call you find for the chiefs I bet I can find 2 missed calls for the ravens. pic.twitter.com/QyaZdDuVQl

Taylor Swift’s involvement furthered the idea that Roger Goodell and the NFL preferred Chiefs victories
Taylor Swift has seen camera time in every one of Travis Kelce’s games that she has attended. Her involvement with the NFL has generated $331.5 million for the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL, according to a report from Apex Marketing Group.
President of Apex Market Group Eric Smallwood addressed the reasoning behind the massive increase in income for the Chiefs and the NFL in an article from Market Watch.
“It’s really a perfect situation because you have this massive concert tour that took place [by] a superstar singer, and you meld that with a guy in the NFL, a top-name athlete in the NFL [who] is semi high-profile, and he got a lot of commercials [and is] well-respected,” Smallwood said.
The revenue Swift brings in has many fans thinking that it is too much for the NFL to lose out on.

This is a well scripted script, for something that’s not scripted
