Bill Belichick is one of the best coaches in the history of football and for the first time in a quarter century, he is a free agent after leaving the New England Patriots. Everyone has been speculating where he is going to end up but his former tight end Rob Gronkowski shared what he believes is next for the legendary coach.
While speaking on the pre-game show before the Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys game, Gronkowski shared his beliefs about the future and how Bill Belichick could be heading south for the winter.
“Don’t expect Coach Belichick to be done from here on out. He’s coming back with vengeance. nd I’ve been hearing on the streets the Atlanta Falcons are coming in hot for Coach Belichick.”
That is interesting as the partnership between Bill Belichick and the Atlanta Falcons make a lot of sense. The team has a lot of young talent on the roster with guys like wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts and running back Bijan Robinson to name a few. They are also equipped with the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft so there is a chance they can draft a quarterback or even attract a veteran in free agency.
If Belichick does wind up in Atlanta, he has a great chance of stacking wins as the NFC South is viewed as arguably the weakest division in football. That will help him get to Don Shula’s record for wins a lot quicker.
Is the Atlanta Falcons the best landing spot for Bill Belichick?
There are a lot of openings that are going to be available for Bill Belichick to choose from and it will be interesting to see which teams view him as a legitimate option. While the Atlanta Falcons are a great landing spot, if the Philadelphia Eagles or Dallas Cowboys lose in the NFC Wild Card Round, there is a chance those jobs immediately open up.
That would be two incredible landing spots for him as they have incredible rosters that are known to be threats in the conference. If Belichick is not insistent on being the general manager on top of being the coach, this would be a huge landing spot but the Falcons is definitely intriguing to say the least.
