Tom Brady made headlines before the 2024 NFL Draft hinting that he is still in football shape and would entertain the idea of playing again if the right team called him.
As Brady prepares to break records with Netflix this week for his live ‘Roast’, there is growing speculation that the 7 time Super Bowl champion will bail on his broadcasting career in favor of making a return or focusing on other business ventures.
He also is in the process of becoming a part owner for the Las Vegas Raiders which would bar him from getting in the booth as a broadcaster as well.
Tom Brady Will Not Become A FOX Broadcaster
Tom Brady signed the biggest broadcasting deal ever shocking the NFL world. The deal is for $300 million plus with his contract at FOX. He signed this at the end of his playing career and took a year to prepare for this role.
Now there is speculation that he will extend the year preparation indefinitely and will actually bail on the job all together.
Brady was quoted earlier this month saying that he is open to making a return to the NFL again. If a contender gives him a call he would be open to entertaining it. Both Mike Florio and Dan Patrick think Brady actually wants to come back:
“I think there are no accidents when it comes to Tom Brady,” Florio said on Dan Patrick’s show. “And for him to come out and say, after declaring last year he’s done and he’s never coming back … [that he] wouldn’t be opposed to coming back and playing, are you kidding me? That was huge.”
He continued.
“I don’t think it’s something that just flew out of his mouth, I think he’s ready to come back,” Florio argued. “And I think that was his trial balloon to see if anyone will call him. Just a couple of weeks before the draft, plenty of teams looking for quarterbacks … I think Brady wants to come back. He wants to be pursued.”
Tom Brady Ownership Bid Would Make Him Ditch Broadcasting Career
Florio continued by saying that he believes Brady will not be a broadcaster:
“I think there’s a chance he never gets in the broadcasting booth,” he added.
Brady is in the process of becoming a part owner for the Raiders as well, and he will be forced to bail on his broadcasting career the moment he becomes a part owner.
It makes sense that Brady would not put in all the work to getting ready to sit in the booth only for him to have to quit a few months in.
In addition, Brady seems to be keeping a return to football open. With all of that being said, it would not be surprising at all if the legendary quarterback bailed on FOX.
