The New England Patriots are one of the rumored teams to be considering a parting of ways with their head coach as Bill Belichick seemingly is available. However, he is under contract and would need to be traded as a result. While Black Monday is happening as the regular season is officially over, teams are assessing their next steps for their coaching staff.
At least one team is monitoring the Bill Belichick news closely and that is the Atlanta Falcons, per Dianna Russini.
Bill Belichick is still the head coach in New England but the Atlanta Falcons are a team to watch if Belichick is available. They are interested, per sources.

The Atlanta Falcons made news as they fired head coach Arthur Smith after three seasons and getting Belichick would be a massive get for the team. The Falcons seem to be a great landing spot for the legendary coach as the team has a lot of talent outside of the quarterback position on both sides of the football.
It will be interesting to see how deep talks will get between the Falcons and the Patriots about a potential move. Bill Belichick has the third-most wins in NFL history as a coach and would create some stability for the Falcons in a highly-winnable NFC South.
Would Bill Belichick want to go to the Atlanta Falcons?
While we do not know exactly what Bill Belichick would want from a team if he leaves the Patriots, we know that he is looking to capture the all-time wins total and needs a few seasons to reach that elusive total. The Atlanta Falcons have the ability to win 9+ games with a strong head coach and they currently hold the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL draft to get the quarterback position corrected.
While other coaching positions could open up as we already see the Washington Commanders join the coaching search with the firing of Ron Rivera, the Falcons would need to act fast before losing out on Belichick. The front office needs to figure out if he is interested and get on that otherwise risk losing out on some of the top names in the candidacy list.
With both the Falcons and Patriots season’s over, this is the perfect time to send out feelers and see if the greatest coach of this generation would want to move south for the winter.
