The Cincinnati Bengals signed a 26-year-old quarterback to the practice squad Friday amid starting quarterback Joe Burrow’s recent injury complications. During training camp, Burrow sustained a calf injury that kept him out in preseason, but he returned to the field for the Bengals’ first game of the regular season.
Burrow re-aggravated his calf during the Bengals Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He said the injury would be a season-long concern. On Thursday, Burrow told reporters, “We’ll see,” regarding his availability to play in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams Monday night.
The Bengals are hedging their bets.
