The New York Jets fanbase is fuming after the league punished one of their star defenders twice for his play against the Cleveland Browns in Week 17. The Browns, led by quarter Joe Flacco, had their way offensively against the Jets during their 37-20 blowout on Thursday Night Football.
The game was a costly one for defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Williams was fined $16,391 for roughing Flacco by hitting the quarterback on his head. Flacco was unfazed by the illegal hit, as the veteran quarterback threw a 50-yard touchdown on the play.
Quinnen Williams was also fined $10,927 for a separate unnecessary roughness violation last week.

The NFL didn’t stop picking Williams’ pocket there. The league sent another message to the Jets and Williams by fining him $10,927 for unnecessary roughness on a separate play.

He should appeal. Flacco pump faked. I betcha if players appealed fines more often, they'd stop giving them out so easily.
