The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (#14) host the Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday in an ACC clash. Notre Dame is coming off an impressive 48-20 road win over USC. Pitt fell to Wake Forest 21-17, moving to 0-3 on the road and 2-5 overall.
Will Notre Dame take care of business and improve to 7-2, or will the Panthers claw their way to an upset victory on the road?

Key Stats
Pitt
The Panthers have been bad on both sides of the ball, but last week, sophomore QB Christian Veilleux threw for 302 yards, which is a positive sign. Pitt still lost, but maybe they’ve found something with Veilleux, who started the year as the backup.
Defensively, Pitt has done well against the run, allowing just 3.2 yards per rush, but they did allow 172 yards on the ground last time out. Versus the pass, the Panthers rank well statistically, too, giving up only 195.3 passing yards per game, the 26th fewest in the country.
Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish, led by senior QB Sam Hartman, have one of the best offenses in the country. Hartman has thrown for 1,838 yards, 18 TDs, and just three interceptions. Recently, he hasn’t been quite as effective, but he didn’t need to be last week, as the defense dominated.
Versus Caleb Williams and USC, Notre Dame forced five turnovers, and they boast one of the better defenses in college football. They allow the 11th fewest yards and yards per play, and opponents have just a 97.5 QB rating, which is the fourth-lowest opponent QB rating in the country. If their defense can shine again on Sunday, it’ll be a long day for Pitt’s offense.
Game Prediction
The Fighting Irish climbed up seven spots after their win over USC, displaying their resilience after a tough loss to Louisville. The Panters lost to a subpar Wake Forest last time out, and they’ve been awful against the spread, especially on the road. Pitt is 0-3 ATS on the road, and Notre Dame should ride their momentum from last week and win by three TDs here.
Pick: Notre Dame -20.5 (-110)
