Okwuegbunam started his NFL career with the Denver Broncos.
The Denver Broncos drafted Albert Okwuegbunam in the 4th round, 118th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Okwuegbunam appeared in four games during his rookie season, recording 11 receptions on 15 targets for 121 yards and one touchdown. He was a healthy scratch for the first four games and missed the last eight because of an ACL tear in Week 9.
Okwuegbunam appeared in 14 games during his second season, recording 33 receptions on 40 targets for 330 yards and two touchdowns. He missed three games because of a hamstring injury.
Okwuegbunam appeared in eight games during his third season, recording ten receptions on 18 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown. He was a healthy scratch for 9 games.
Denver traded Okwuegbunam and a 2025 seventh-round pick to Philadelphia in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round pick.
