The Philadelphia Eagles signed Myles Jack in order to try and solve some of their linebacker issues. After being released by the Steelers in March, Jack did not garner much attention in free agency. At that point, Jack had to consider his options. According to The Athletic’s Zack Berman Jack considered going to trade school to become a plumber or electrician.
Philadelphia Eagles Myles Jack Almost Became A Plumber
Jack is a smart and motivated guy. He knew that sitting at home was not an option.
“I like to work. I couldn’t sit at home. I’ve been blessed to make a lot of money. I could retire and sit at the house. … I want to be innovative. If a Zombie apocalypse came, I want to be able to build something.”
Jack has a trailblazing attitude and probably would have a very successful gimmick to start a plumbing or electrician business. It seems that his dreams will have to be put on hold as now he is tasked with helping the defending NFC champions get back to the Super Bowl.
Joining A Stacked Defense
The Eagles have a defensive line that other teams will have nightmares about. Then, they added Jalen Carter with the ninth overall pick in the draft and he has been getting rave reviews out of camp. The secondary also boasts some excellent players though they did lose some in free agency. The linebackers leave something to be desired. The Eagles are hoping that the upside of Jack can be tapped into now that he is surrounded by a talented defense.
The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping that Myles Jack can be the missing piece to the defense. The NFC is a very weak conference so the Eagles should have an easy time making it back to the playoffs.
