Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce retired earlier this week. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati and he is one of the best players in Eagles history. Kelce is eligible to go into the Hall of Fame in 2029.
There is always something unique about every single player’s career. When Jason Kelce began college, he didn’t start as a center. Kelce was a walk-on for Cincinnati and he started his college football career as a running back.
Well, that was probably one of the best choices he ever made in his football career. He was in college from 2006-2010 and retired from the NFL at age 36.
Jason Kelce’s Career With the Philadelphia Eagles
Kelce was the 191st overall selection (sixth-round pick) in the 2011 NFL Draft. He had to work hard throughout his entire NFL career to where he got to today. Jason Kelce won a Super Bowl title with the franchise.
He played for Philadelphia from 2011-2023. Kelce was a six-time first-team All-Pro and a Seven-Time Pro Bowler. He also started in 193 games throughout his NFL career. Jason Kelce has already been taking his retirement by storm.
He is going to be trending across the internet more often in his retirement. Kelce said on New Heights Show about the Philadelphia Eagles’ potential for next season after retirement by saying:
“One of the things I very much don’t like and that I’m disappointed in retiring right now is I’m retiring when the Eagles had the biggest collapse in the history of the organization. And the reason I’m upset about it is I really truly think the Eagles are gonna ball out next year.. I just really think there’s gonna be one hell of a bounce back next season.. Although I’ll still be around and in the facility next season, and a part of it, I won’t be on the field. But I’ll enjoy it in a different way.”
There is no doubt he is going to support the only team he played for in the NFL. Kelce is always a legend in the city of Philadelphia, Pennslyvania.
