The Oregon Ducks had a great 2023 season but couldn’t get past one team, the Washington Huskies. Still, this does not take away from the program that head coach Dan Lanning is building. The Ducks landed another huge commitment in the portal when they got former Kansas State safety Kobe Savage.

Oregon Ducks Land S Kobe Savage From The Transfer Portal
Savage has been an anchor of the Wildcats defense for the past two years. In two years at Kansas State, he had 115 tackles, one forced fumble, and six interceptions. This performance earned him All-Big 12 second-team honors. Lanning saw that safety was a huge problem for the team in 2023 and set out to fix it. Savage is a consistent player who is great in run defense.
2024 Outlook
The Ducks landed two high-profile quarterbacks in the portal along with lots of other pieces. They move to the Big Ten in 2024 and have to play some of the toughest teams in the conference. The Ducks get Ohio State at home but have to travel to the Big House to take on Michigan. They end the season with Washington where they will try and get revenge for this year. The addition of Savage should help slow down some of the great offenses in their new conference.
Can the Oregon Ducks get back on top of the college football world in 2024? They are doing well in the transfer portal and Lanning has shown he can put a winning product on the field.
