Earlier, during the winter transfer portal, offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor decided to leave Alabama and head to play for Iowa. The freshman offensive lineman was one of the few big-time players who left the Crimson Tide after head coach Nick Saban retired, but he wouldn’t stay at Iowa long.

After only three months at Iowa, the former Alabama offensive lineman decided to leave the program, enter the spring transfer portal, return to the Crimson Tide, and play for new head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Transferring from one school to another back to the original school is an extraordinary event, but that is the new era in college football. The Crimson Tide was able to steal a Big Ten offensive lineman in Proctor, and now they grabbed another one on Saturday.

Matt Zenitz from 247sports.com states, “Michigan State offensive lineman Geno VanDeMark has committed to Alabama.”

The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman entered the portal on April 30th and has been with Michigan State since 2021.

The Montvale, New Jersey native made six starts last season for the Spartans and will battle for a starting spot for the Crimson Tide this season.
