The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the top college football destinations. They seem to be in the mix for a lot of recruits and players in the transfer portal. The program landed former San Diego State cornerback Dezjhon Malone via the portal on Sunday.

Oklahoma Sooners Land CB Dezjhon Malone
“Truly Thankful for every opportunity in this process, excited to announce I am fully committed to the University of Oklahoma!” Malone wrote on X this morning. In his 33 games with the Aztecs, he has tallied 89 tackles (67 solo), four tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, and 12 passes defended. This is a great pickup for Brent Venables and his staff who will now have the tall task of trying to stop SEC offenses.
Move To The SEC
Along with the Texas Longhorns, the Sooners will join the SEC in 2024. This makes the conference an absolute gauntlet to get through. The conference already was a feat to win and now will add two of college football’s premier programs. The Sooners still have a lot of positions to figure out, especially since QB Dillon Gabriel entered the portal and will play at Oregon next season. However, Venables shouldn’t have an issue finding a talented player to be under center come next season.
Dezjhon Malone is a great pickup for the program. There will be a lot of player movement in the coming days as more visits happen and it will be interesting to see where everyone ends up once the dust settles.
