Oklahoma Sooners QB Michael Hawkins: Dominant Dual-Threat Prospect
Hawkins, a four-star prospect from Frisco Emerson High School in McKinney, Texas, is a consensus four-star prospect, per 247Sports composite and ranks as a top 40 quarterback in the class of 2024. Mitchell dominated during his final high school season, throwing for 3,039 yards and 41 touchdowns against three picks. He also ran 125 times for 1,172 yards and 14 scores. Emerson finished the season with a sparkling 12-3 record, eventually falling to South Oak Cliff High School in the playoffs.
The OU signee will likely sit behind quarterbacks Jackson Arnold and General Booty next season. Arnold threw for 202 yards and two scores against no picks this season. He is a former five-star recruit. Meanwhile, Booty transferred to Oklahoma from Tyler Junior College in 2022.
Hawkins is an Elite 11 finalist, and his father, Mike, played cornerback for the Oklahoma Sooners. He played three seasons in the NFL, collecting 14 tackles between time with the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Oakland Raiders. His brother Malik is a top-ranked corner in the class of 2025.
