The NFL has certainly had a lot of breaking news capture headlines this week. Now, they are focusing on their 2024 International Games. A report from earlier this morning reveals which teams are going to host some of these designated games.
NFL Releases London and Munich Teams
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the NFL has revealed which teams will host the 2024 International Games which will take place in London and Munich next season. There are four planned games in these two cities. The four host teams are:
- Jacksonville Jaguars (London- Wembley)
- Chicago Bears (London- Tottenham)
- Minnesota Vikings (London- Tottenham)
- Carolina Panthers (Munich)
Reviewing and Reacting to Chosen Teams
The Jacksonville Jaguars should come as no surprise. They are virtually guaranteed to have a London game every year. As for the others, most of these make sense as well for one particular reason.
That reason is the NFC teams having an extra home game next year. Because NFC teams have nine home games, it makes sense to assign these teams a game that is essentially being played on a neutral field. There is also something else notable about the teams chosen.
None of these four teams made the playoffs this season. Fans noticed this and reacted to it. Here is one notable comment that a fan had to say about these teams:“I’m glad they are sending the sh*t teams out of the country. Nobody wants to watch that.”
Carolina went just 2-15 and appear to have no end in sight. Chicago and Minnesota fell just short of the playoffs, each finishing 7-10 respectively. As for Jacksonville, they had a disappointing collapse, going 1-5 in their last six games to miss the playoffs as well. Now, these teams look to have a better performance abroad in 2024.
