The NFL has made a controversial decision regarding the Kansas City Chiefs Wild Card matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night. Per the USA Today, the National Weather Service is predicting extremely frigid temperatures in Kansas City Saturday:
It will be dangerously cold Saturday when the Kansas City Chiefs battle the Miami Dolphins at 8 p.m. in Kansas City. The National Weather Service in Kansas City said the temperature could struggle to rise above zero degrees, and wind chill could hit -10 to as much as -35 degrees.
Those temperatures aren’t great for the players on the field, but the league is also responsible for looking out for their customers–the fans. The NFL is already planning to agitate Chiefs and Dolphins fans during the game, as the digital streaming platform Peacock will have exclusive rights to broadcast the game outside of Miami and Kansas City.
The NFL doesn’t plan to move the Chiefs/Dolphins game
According to Andy Slater with Fox Sports 640, the league will not make a schedule change for the Wild Card matchup despite the reportedly dangerous conditions expected in Kansas City Saturday night.
The wind chill in Kansas City Saturday night will be "dangerously cold," the National Weather Service says.
The latest forecast approaches a wind chill of -30 degrees.
An NFL source told me yesterday there will be no schedule change for the Dolphins-Chiefs game. https://t.co/999R3bUlsU

The league has moved games to alternate stadiums because of weather before. In fact, there are plans in place this week to potentially move the Wild Card matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers to Cleveland because of the dangerous weather conditions heading to New York.
The league should consider doing the same in Kansas City. The Chiefs have worked hard this season to earn a home playoff game. The league should respect that. But putting players and fans in harm’s way due to extremely frosty temperatures crosses a line where the NFL should step in.

Wrong. There’s a big difference between flooding conditions and cold January weather. Chiefs already setting up extra medical for fans who may need it, bring cardboard to stand on, dress in layers, use heated clothing, be smart. It may be cold, but we also have been known to have -30 to -40 wind chills for a solid month. Maybe if the Dolphins weren’t such cry baby wimps and were used to covered climate controlled stadiums…
Football is an OUTDOOR sport.
They’ve been playing football in this type of weather for a century. It’s clear this country is getting too soft for even suggesting this!
Football is made for cold weather. As a Browns fan I think Kansas city has the right to play in their stadium no matter the weather conditions period.
Amen. Packers fans have been endeavoring to persevere for years. Cowboy up nfl.
I’m pretty sure every stadium the Dolphins have played in-including their current stadium- has been without a/c and open air. They did finally put a canopy over the fans, but there is no roof covering the field. The bottom bowl is now closer to the players as well, meaning the Marlins had to move to their own stadium.

The league said there are no plans in place to move the Bills/Steelers game. You should do your homework and not rely on whatever you see on Twitter.
Are you nuts move the game where nobody gets hurt. This is one time we need to think of fans and players safety
Did you ever hear of the ice bowl
Put in 15 min. breaks between each quarter, like halftime. Give people who need it a time to warm up, get hot drinks or go home.
Then, put a roof on that stadium and heat it like the modern man has accomplished in the past.
It’s global warming that will kill us all, it’s too dam hot out there said the dinosaurs driving their
e-trucks a little while ago.
Freezer Bowl in Cincinnati. -22 temp with -59 windchill.
yep glad to see someone remembers when football was a sport that had men with big balls who played through broken bones and cold weather! Move the game , are you people serious it’s called home field advantage for a reason. I swear football has gotten to be a soft game that men, oh wait we can’t say that it’s not the right pronouns anymore wtf is wrong with the world today? Take your skirts and panties off boys let the men take the field!!!!!!
This reporter clearly grew up in a soft environment…
What a whimp, like someone previos, this isn’t ‘sissy ball’ this is football. Weather issues are and have been part of the game for over 100 years!!! Get over it Karen!
How can the NFL in clear consciousness for everyone involved in this absolutely refuse to reschedule the game to protect everyone.
No one in their right mind would do what they are doing……OH WAIT I KNOW…..
ITS ALL ABOUT THAT MONEY……
TO HELL WITH PEOPLE’S LIVES…..
All I gotta say is you need to rethink this very hard or you could be in a world of trouble afterwards..
I would absolutely refuse to play the game players, seems like no one cares about your welfare.
PLEASE IN GODS NAME AND BY HIS GRACE TO PROTECT YOU BE CAREFUL AND STAY SAFE IF THIS GAME IS PLAYED. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
If the NFL care so much about their fans why do they have to pay to watch the game when they already pay to fund stadiums and their home teams?
