Miami Dolphins fans had a rough Sunday night. The Dolphins blew their chance to win the AFC East by losing to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. That loss sends the Dolphins to the Wild Card round next weekend.
The Dolphins will play the Kansas City Chiefs in what will be one of the more intriguing games of Wild Card weekend. There’s one problem for Chiefs and Dolphins fans who want to watch the game.
The Chiefs and Dolphins matchup won’t be on network television or cable, except for NBC stations in the city of Miami and Kansas City.
NBC’s streaming video service Peacock will broadcast the high-stakes game between two AFC rivals. The Chiefs and Dolphins are the only NFL matchup being shown on Peacock next weekend.
Miami Dolphins fans react to Chiefs game being shown on Peacock
Fans were upset to learn they’d be forced to buy a Peacock subscription in order to watch the Chiefs/Dolphins game. Here are the best takes on Dolphins fans finding out they might be unable to watch their playoff game.
The Dolphins aren’t very good. Silver lining – now they can go lose on Peacock where no one will see them.

Can’t wait for no one to watch Chiefs Dolphins since it’s on Peacock 🤡

I am absolutely not paying for Peacock to watch the Dolphins freeze in Kansas City, we all know how that game ends.
— Matt St. Jean (@mattstdream) January 8, 2024
Dawg they got the Dolphins behind the Peacock pay wall 😭😭😭
— Josh (@jpablo_171) January 8, 2024
The #Dolphins – #Chiefs game being the Peacock game is absurd!
— Guru (@FENNGUCCI) January 8, 2024
Silver lining… the Dolphins’ next loss is on Peacock so most of us won’t see it live

I hope the NFL gets what they deserve – low viewership. It is despicable that they are doing this to fans!
I agree. We live in Florida. We follow the Dolphins. Why should we have to buy another service?
Yes it will be on ch. 41 thank me later go chiefs
They aren’t thinking of the fans much by doing that 🤬😡. You would think as much money as the teams have they would make sure it was shown !!!!!!
What is Peacock? Just another game I won’t watch. With all of the pay channels and the way the games are broadcasted, I rarely watch the NFL anymore. I used to watch every game I could. But it has been an unexpected blessing. My weekends are much more productive. In addition, my children rarely sit and watch a full game. We used to be an NFL Sunday family.
effff the NFL, they can suck sack the back of my sweaty nut sack
I stopped watching football when the NFL players disrespected the flag.
I just started watching again this season.
Now they want to charge extra to watch a game? Never.
I hope nobody pays, so they learn not to try this again.
Just one more reason I’ve gotten away from professional sports…

Ref: NFL Playoffs on Pay-Per-View, Open Letter to NFL & Public TV
Attn: Roger Goodell
“United We Stand, Divided We Fall”
Mr. Goodell,
It was just a few years ago when the NFL was competing with Nascar for viewership? That’s not that long ago and it’s not the case today. Do you remember what happen to Nascar’s “Unstoppable Empire”? Their honorable president disassociated themselves from their core followers! They turned their back on the guys and gals that made the sport one of the greatest sports in America, their fans had more passion than all the money in the world could produce. Nascar was started in the back woods and heartland of America, growing to compete with the mighty NFL in viewership; A feat thought to be unattainable to many, neck and neck out of turn four, for a photo finish. Everyone was watching, excitement was unimaginable, who won, who won? People were talking, diners were filled with fenders, tires and posters of their favorite drivers and then the president said to his cronies, “nothing can stop us now, we are on top of the world”, let’s start charging our followers to view these races. Saying to themselves, “who in their right mind wouldn’t pay a small fee to experience that excitement”! That’s what happened to Nascar and it’s happening to you now, best you remember that. I am just one, the poet of many dreamers. I was just one of many Nascar followers too. History has a way of repeating itself and no single man or organization is beyond “the Wrath of God”. As a recall, Rome fell and Nascar is way down the list on viewership and sponsorship this year and is no longer competitive in the viewership ratings. If Nascar continues in this dreadful spiral they will be dead in 10 years too. How do the major sports in America compare in 2023 TV viewership? 1st – NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, #6, Nascar is hardly a blip in the rating screen, Humm, ten years ago, Nascar and the NFL, was two marketing machines, neck and neck coming out of turn four. As a born and bred southerner, I watched exactly zero (0.00) laps of Nascar in 2023. As we compare my current life to my 2001 life, I missed exactly zero (0.00) laps of every race, unless I had to excuse myself for personal or professional reasons. Are you starting to get the message being sent here? The writing is on the wall. You only have to ask yourself one question; Do you want that Wall to be in a bathroom on an abandon stretch of Route 66 or on the Wall of your next stadium?
It upsets me, that the NFL is not putting all the NFL Wild-Card games on national TV during the week of 1/13/24. I have even heard roamers that the Super Bowl is considering a Pay-Per-View option, in the near future. Thus, I penned this letter “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”. With your salary, Mr. Goodell, of 67M per year, a $20 Pay-Per-View is little more to you than I, is to open a public door for a stranger to pass through. Empathy for your brethren is a trait we must all remember.
I was born, raised and reared on NFL football and played football many years as a kid, as many of you, that are reading this, all did as well. We sat beside our dad’s, families and friends as a child and fell in love with the game. Like many of you reading this message, we’ve enjoyed the wonderful passage of time with our own families beside us, throughout our entire adult life. The NFL has feed the American people for years like “drugs to the addict”, now it’s only available to the middle class and higher. Mr. Goodell you have taken the NFL Playoffs to Pay-Per-View and it’s not available to the common man who makes sure there’s food and a solid roof over the heads of our wives and children, after a hard day’s work. The crumbs of your irrelevant games you have allow us to view on public TV during this week, show the people of America, that your opinion of us is that; we are not worthy of the good fruit but here’s some left-over peanut.
We the People are outraged! The profiteering movement by the NFL, is selfish and non-American. We the People of America, demand that it is our right to watch the NFL on public free TV. Give us back our beloved Pastime, give us back our NFL Playoffs and Regular season games. We, as compassionate people of the general public, are forced to accept that the Regular Season, is tilted towards your profiteering schemes, most of us (the workers of America) are too tired from work to stay up late on Monday & Thursday nights to dabble in “Your Sandbox”. We have a higher calling of responsibility; our families need us. However, Saturday nights and Sundays are the moments of our lives, most working people have free time to relax and enjoy the fruits of our labors, thanks for the Peanuts! How uncompassionate of you, to create us addicts of your desired NFL and then flip the switch forcing our frustration and displeasure.
I call on all comrades to this matter, to contact the NFL, let’s flood the phone lines, emails and comments sections of every football report with this open letter. “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”. We the common people of America are the backbone that help create the NFL Empire, we demand acceptance and respect. Perhaps later if life, my kids will see writing on the Wall of an old abandon bathroom one day that reads, “The NFL was fun but this is all that remains”.
Sincerely,
Ken Howell

It’s all about the money, I”m done with the NFL
NFL leadership just doesn’t get it and doesn’t give a damn!!!!!!!!! GREED!!!!!!!!!!!!
NFL is going to stand for Not For Long if they keep doing stupid shit like this.
This was a slap in the face for long tine NFL fans. There is no justification for this – none.
