The Chicago Bears finally traded quarterback Justin Fields on Saturday when they sent him to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a sixth-round pick, which could turn into a fourth-rounder based on Fields playing time.
Many people were slamming the Bears for making the deal, saying they got so little in return, and an NFL analyst went to X on Sunday to give his thoughts.
Former NFL Player Doesn’t Like The Trade
Former NFL player and current Fox analyst Emmanuel Acho said in a 1-minute and 13-second video that the Bears fumbled the Fields trade and should’ve waited until the draft to make the deal.
After a day to process it, here’s how the @ChicagoBears completely botched the Justin Fields trade, and what they should’ve done instead. Let’s talk! #AchoAnalysis pic.twitter.com/w8vF44xWOy

Acho went through other former NFL Draft Day quarterbacks traded, like when the Arizona Cardinals knew all along they were going to take quarterback Kyler Murray in 2019 with the first pick and held on to current quarterback Josh Rosen and traded him during the draft to the Miami Dolphins for a second and fifth-rounder.
Acho said the Bears should’ve kept Fields and waited until a team like the Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings couldn’t make a trade to draft a quarterback, and the Bears could’ve gotten a better return trading Fields to a team that missed on a quarterback during the draft.
Acho Is Spot On Here
I have to agree with Acho on this one. Everyone in the NFL knows the Bears will take USC’s quarterback Caleb Williams with the first overall pick, but there will be teams that miss out on quarterbacks in the draft that would’ve given up more than a sixth-round pick for Fields.
The Bears could’ve done better in this trade, but they settled when they could’ve waited and got a little more for their three-year quarterback.
