NFL teams are working very hard to open up as much cap space as possible before free agency officially begins next Wednesday. Because of that, many notable elite players have shockingly been cut in the last few days.
The Buffalo Bills appear to be clearing out their entire locker room ahead of free agency and other teams have also parted ways with some of their best players. Here are the five best players hitting the open market this week.
NFL Safeties And Corner Backs Got Cut
Xavien Howard of the Miami Dolphins was cut in the last few days and he should have a large market even though he is no longer in the prime of his career. In addition to Howard, both Quandre Diggs and Justin Simmons were cut as well. Both teams are making these cuts in desperate moves to clear up cap space ahead of free agency.
The Seattle Seahawks released both Diggs and fellow safety Jamal Adams. Their defense will have a completely different look next season and both of those players should not have a hard time at all getting a new job.
Buffalo Bills Cleaning House In Shocking Cuts

The most surprising of these NFL cuts has been what the Buffalo Bills have done in the past few days. Two of the top five players to be released so far are Bills players in Tre’davious White and Jordan Poyer. While cutting just one of those guys would be shocking, cutting both has many NFL fans scratching their hands.
The Bills have been the most active team during this period with their cuts and restructuring of players contracts. They are clearly gearing up to make tons of moves in free agency to try and finally get over that hump in the 2024 season.
