The New York Giants struggled on the offensive line last season. Their first move in the legal tampering period will help solidify that unit. Once free agency legally begins, Jon Runyan is expected to sign a three-year deal worth $30 million.
Former Packers guard Jon Runyan reached agreement on a three-year deal with the New York Giants for $30 million, including $17 million guaranteed at signing. The deal was confirmed by agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.

The three-year deal between Runyan and the New York Giants is worth $30 million in total, with $17 million guaranteed.
New York Giants Offensive Line
The Giants offensive line was one of the worst in the league last year.
Pro Football Focus in its final offensive line rankings of the 2023 regular season, and to no one’s surprise, the Giants finished 30th, just ahead of the last-place Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets.
Runyan has started over 50 games in his four-year career. He will add continuity to a struggling group.
Jon Runyan Legacy OL
Jon Runyan is Jon Runyan Jr. His father, Jon Runyan Sr., played in the NFL for 13 seasons and appeared or started in over 200 NFL games.
In 2022, Jon Runyan Jr. was actually notified by his father of an infraction that occurred during a game.
According to ESPN, “Packers guard Jon Runyan Jr. received a letter from his father, Jon Runyan, the NFL’s vice president of football operations, who notified his son that he has been fined $5,215 for leg-whipping an opponent during the first quarter of Green Bay’s loss last Sunday to the Giants in London.”
Hopefully, the Runyan legacy will continue for the New York Giants.
