The New Orleans Saints are getting ready for a critical Week 18 game against the Atlanta Falcons. To keep their playoff hopes alive, they must win this game. Unfortunately, a recent announcement just made this task a little harder.
Alvin Kamara Is Out
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara is out today due to an ankle injury he suffered in last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As a result, New Orleans will now have to try to win this critical game without their star running back. Kamara has 694 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns in 13 games this season.
New Orleans Saints Moving Forward
What does this mean for the New Orleans Saints? It means they will have to try to secure a playoff spot without their star running back. Not only do the Saints need to win this game but they need at least one other team in playoff contention to lose.
The Saints will likely turn to RB Jamaal Williams to try to fill in the gap. When he came in for Kamara last week, he had the most rushing yards in any individual game of his this season. Now, he looks to top that performance to help New Orleans come up with a critical win.
