Michigan Wolverines Sign-Stealing Investigation Gets More Updated News
Just one day after initial information was revealed about the Michigan Wolverines sign-stealing scandal, more news is continuing to surface. ESPN sources have said that Stalion has bought tickets to 12 Big Ten Schools as well as more tickets to 35 games in 17 college stadiums.
Also, the Michigan Wolverines staffer purchased tickets for four schools outside of the Big Ten Conference that were either in the college football playoffs or at least a contender, including the 2021-2022 SEC College Football Playoff Games.
NCAA Policies For The Violation
Of course, the National Collegiate Athletic Association has a policy about violations such as sign-stealing. The policy talks about the “integrity of the competition” as a fundamental element that all Big Ten schools are expected to uphold. Institutions are responsible for “the actions of their employees” and for cooperating with the league during an investigation.
The conference also has two disciplinary actions that could take place, either including fines or going even further involving different schools and a committee to discuss punishment.
Jim Harbaugh’s Statement On The Investigation
In Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh’s press conference last week, he spoke about “illegally stealing signs” and said he had never “directed any staff member or others to participate in an off-campus scouting assignment.”
With more information coming to light amid the investigation, nothing is confirmed regarding punishment with the University of Michigan football program or head coach Jim Harbaugh. Many fans/coaches or other schools are showing mixed emotions about the sign-stealing scandal. Plus, more updates are still being released.
The Michigan Wolverines are 8-0 on the season heading into a bye week. They will face the Purdue Boilermakers on November 4th at 7:30 p.m. on NBC in The Big House!
