Michigan Wolverines Land Carter Smith
Smith is a 6′ 3″, 180-pound quarterback out of Fort Meyers Florida. According to 247, he is the 14th-ranked quarterback in the class. Jim Harbaugh and his team were able to beat out the big programs from the state of Florida for the commitment. Both Florida State and Florida were in the mix but Smith ultimately chose to come to Ann Arbor. Smith is considered a bit of a project as his throwing mechanics need some work. However, his athletic ability is off the charts, and he is a great get for the program.
2025 Recruiting Class
Smith is one of three recruits who have committed to the Wolverines. Four-star cornerback Chris Ewald and three-star defensive lineman Bobby Kanka are the other two that have committed. It gives the Wolverines the 12th ranked class in the nation currently though it is extremely early. What is more impressive is that the program is able to get commitments despite being under investigation by the NCAA for sign-stealing. There is still time for recruits to change their mind but this may signal that recruits are not worried.
Landing quarterback talent is always good for the Michigan Wolverines. Carter Smith looks to join a long list of great quarterbacks that have graced the Big House in Ann Arbor.
