The Miami Hurricanes have been trying for decades to get back on top of the ACC. As they move toward 2024, they are dealing with what so many teams are dealing with, the transfer portal. Talented edge rusher Cyrus Moss announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Miami Hurricanes Lose Cyrus Moss To The Transfer Portal
According to 247, Moss was a top ten edge prospect in the class of 2022. He had 30 offers from a lot of big programs but ultimately decided to come to Miami. He barely played in 2023 only recording one assisted tackle. This likely signals that he was looking for more playing time and is leaving to look for greener pastures.
Can Miami Get To The Top Of The ACC?
Miami has their work cut out for them. The Hurricanes have already lost some promising prospects to the transfer portal making it more difficult to build a championship contender. At this point, Miami would be happy to compete for an ACC title. The good news for the Hurricanes is that they are in a desirable location and it seems like many players want to play there. Mario Cristobal and his staff will have to heavily recruit the portal in order to replenish the talent that is leaving.
This is a rough time for a lot of programs as they deal with players leaving for the portal. Can Miami get to the top of the ACC in 2024?
